chalk-20

Howchalk-20works

Remember minting ORDI? Everyone started on the same line. chalk-20 brings that to Robinhood Chain, with the rules enforced by one contract.

  1. 1

    Deploy

Anyone deploys a 4-character tick with a size (number of mints × coins per mint) and one ETH price per mint. Nothing is reserved for the deployer: they mint at the same price as everyone else.

  2. 2

    Batch window

For the first 10 minutes, mints are commits. When the window closes they all settle together. If more is committed than the size, everyone is filled pro rata and the extra ETH is refundable. Being fast in the first 10 minutes doesn't matter.

  3. 3

    Open minting

After the window it's first come, first served until full. At most 2% of the size can be minted per 12 seconds, so no one can take it in one burst.

  4. 4

    Mint-out

Anyone can press List. One transaction creates the coin and opens its Uniswap v4 pool at exactly the mint price with the raised ETH. The liquidity belongs to the chalk hook, which has no way to remove it, so it's locked forever. The caller earns a 0.1% tip.

  5. 5

    Trading

Every trade pays 1%: half raises the coin's floor, half goes to the wallets that minted it. The first 10 minutes after listing have a launch guard against snipers. Details below.

  6. 6

    Unlock

Minters' coins unlock linearly over 60 minutes after listing, so nobody can dump their whole allocation into a brand-new pool in the first block.

  7. 7

    Or a refund

If a tick doesn't fill within 72 hours, every minter can claim back exactly what they paid, any time, forever. The tick name becomes free again.

Chalk a line

A tick can wait for the market instead of opening at deploy. Pick one of the tokenized stocks on Robinhood Chain, draw a line at a price, and set a deadline of up to 60 days. The tick opens when that stock touches the line.

  • The waiting room. Until the touch, anyone can pre-commit mints at the tick's price, up to the 5% wallet cap, and withdraw any of them at any time. The page shows the live price, the distance to the line and how many wallets are waiting.
  • The touch. It counts when the stock's Chainlink feed reports a price at or past the line, in a round published after the line was drawn. The contract checks the feed itself; anyone can fire it, and our keeper does within about a minute. A touch that reverses before anyone fires still counts: the keeper cites the round that touched.
  • Then it's a normal tick. The 10-minute batch window opens at the touch and everyone already waiting is part of it. Pro-rata fill, liquidity locked at mint-out, 60-minute unlock, 72 hours to fill or full refunds. After listing, its coin trades at half fee whenever the stock is still past the line.
  • Never touched? At the deadline the waiting room closes to new pre-commits. A touch Chainlink reported before the deadline can still be fired for 15 more minutes; after that every pre-commit is refundable in full and the name is free again.
  • The birth certificate. A touched tick keeps the Chainlink round, price and time that opened it, on-chain, for good.

Backed by stocks

A tick can be paid in one of the tokenized stocks on Robinhood Chain instead of ETH. Same rules: one price, batch window, wallet cap, 72 hours to fill or full refunds, in the stock.

  • The reserve. At mint-out, 1% goes to the platform and 0.1% to whoever lists. Of the rest, the share the deployer chose (20–80%) stays in the contract as the reserve; the remainder opens a coin/stock pool on Uniswap v4 at the mint price, liquidity locked for good. Half of every trading fee is added to the reserve, in the stock.
  • Redeem. Anyone can burn coins for reserve × coins ÷ total supply, any time. Redeeming lowers the reserve and the supply by the same share, so the reserve per coin, the floor, stays the same for everyone else.
  • What the floor is. It's measured in the stock, not in dollars: if the stock falls, the floor's dollar value falls with it. With a 50% reserve the floor starts at about a third of the mint price.
  • Amounts. Shown in the stock token's own units, as your wallet shows them. Dollar values use the token's split/dividend multiplier and its Chainlink price.

After listing: the chalk hook

Every chalk-20 coin trades in a Uniswap v4 pool run by one hook contract. Its rules are fixed in code, with no owner and no settings. You can trade on this site or through any router that supports Uniswap v4 hooks.

  • A floor that rises with every trade. Every trade pays a 1% fee in ETH (or the stock, for stock-backed coins), and half of it goes to the coin's floor: a reserve that any holder can burn coins against, any time, for coins × floor ÷ supply. Trades only add to it, and redeeming takes out reserve and supply in the same proportion, so the floor per coin never goes down.
  • Minters earn from trading. The other half goes to the wallets that minted the tick, pro rata to what each one minted. It's claimable any time on the tick page or on My mints, and it stays yours after you sell.
  • Same line after listing, too. For the first 10 minutes, buys pay an extra fee that starts at 9% (10% in total) and falls to 0, and no wallet can buy more than 1% of the supply. Bots that buy in the first block pay the floor and the minters. Sells never pay it.
  • Born from a line. A coin from a tick that opened when a stock touched its line pays half the fee (0.5%) while that stock is still at or past the line, by the latest Chainlink price.
  • chalk-20 takes no cut. The team earns nothing from trading. The pool's own LP fee is 0, and the hook's fee goes only to the floor and the minters. (Uniswap governance can switch on its own protocol fee for v4 pools, at most 0.1% of a trade; that would go to Uniswap, not to us.)
  • Whole trades only. The fee is taken on the amount you send, so a trade that a router's price limit would stop partway is refused rather than charged for the part that never happened.

The rules

Tick
4 characters, A–Z and 0–9. One live tick per name; freed again if it expires. Real stock and token tickers (TSLA, NVDA, USDC, WETH…) are reserved and can never be used, so a chalk-20 coin can't pass itself off as one.
Size
100 to 1,000,000 mints; 1 to 1 trillion coins per mint; at most 1 quadrillion coins to minters in total.
Raise
0.05 – 20 ETH per tick for now (mints × price). The cap goes up after an independent review.
Price
Fixed at deploy, the same for every mint and every wallet.
Wallet cap
5% of the mints per wallet, batch and open phases combined.
Who can mint
Regular wallets only. Contracts can't commit or mint.
Deploy fee
0.01 ETH, paid by the deployer. Not refunded if the tick expires.
At listing
1% of the raise to the platform, 0.1% to whoever lists, the rest (98.9%) into the pool.
Listing deadline
A minted-out tick is listed in one click by anyone. If it somehow can't be listed within 7 days after its 72 hours, every minter is refunded in full instead, including anyone who already took back an oversubscription refund.
Trading fee
1% of every trade (0.5% for a coin born from a line while its stock holds the line): half to the floor, half to the minters. Buys in the first 10 minutes pay up to 9% more, and at most 1% of the supply per wallet.
The coin
Plain ERC-20 named "TICK chalk-20", 18 decimals, fixed supply. No owner, no minting, no taxes, no blacklist. The hook can burn coins only from a wallet that is redeeming them, in that wallet's own transaction.
Lines
Any approved Chainlink stock feed; the line can't be where the price already is; deadline 1 hour to 60 days. Up or down is decided by the price when it's drawn.
Supply
Minters' coins plus the pool's coins. The pool gets the coins that match its ETH at the mint price, so minters hold about 50.3% and the pool about 49.7%.

What the team can and can't do

The owner can pause new deploys and mints (claims, refunds and listing keep working while paused), and adjust the deploy fee (at most 0.1 ETH), the raise limits (0.005 to 1,000 ETH), the fee address, and which Chainlink feeds new lines can use, and reserve more tickers (reserving is permanent). Fees collect in the contract and anyone can send them to the fee address. The owner cannot move escrowed ETH or coins: they only leave the contract through claims, refunds and listing. The batch window, caps, unlock, refund rules and fees at listing are fixed in the contract.

Risks

  • chalk-20 is a new contract. It has a full test suite, but no independent review yet; raise limits stay low until it has one. Only mint what you can afford to lose.
  • Coins from a listed tick trade freely on Uniswap. Their price can fall to zero. A locked pool means the liquidity can't be pulled, not that the price will hold.
  • Stock-backed ticks hold tokens issued by a third party. Their contracts let the issuer pause transfers, block addresses, and burn tokens from any address, including chalk-20's reserve. If that happens, refunds, claims and redemptions in that stock can fail or lose value. A token that redeems for a slice of a stock may also be treated as a financial product in some countries; check your local rules.
  • For stock-backed coins, every trade moves the stock into the hook and the reserve. If the stock's issuer freezes either contract, trading in that coin stops, not only redemptions.
  • The chalk hook is new code on Uniswap v4, with no independent review yet. Its fee and floor rules can't be changed by anyone, including if a bug were found; a bug could only be worked around by new contracts for new ticks. The floor is backed by fees, so a coin that trades little has a low floor.
  • Lines depend on Chainlink. Stock feeds publish when the price moves enough or on a schedule, and mostly in US market hours, so a very brief move past the line might never be reported. Only the reported price counts.
  • Stock splits. A line uses the price per share that Chainlink reports, and the contract can't tell a split from a crash. A 10-for-1 split drops the reported price about 90% at once: every "falls to" line on that stock can be touched though the company's value didn't move, and "reaches" lines become almost unreachable and run to their deadline (then refund). Before a split we know about, we retire that feed so no new lines use it, but lines already drawn keep their rules.
  • Real tickers are reserved, but any other name is open to anyone. A tick name says nothing about who is behind it.
  • Only trust the contract address shown on this site and posted by the official account. Copycats will exist.
  • chalk-20 is not affiliated with Robinhood. Nothing here is financial advice.
